Magically Non-gaudy Unicorn Decor

I just love it when this happens - I'm moseying down the aisles, not looking for anything in particular, and there it is: something I never would have thought to want, but recognize as something I can transform and pass on to someone who can love it. This is precisely why I opened this shop - to unite treasures I unearth with the people they belong with. Perhaps I took the Velveteen Rabbit a little too seriously as a child, but I can't help but personify inanimate objects, and it feels wrong not to pick up and love something I feel a kinship with.

So on to this week's treasures:

It was a little forlorn when I found it, kitchy hooks screwed into a honey colored wooden board. Someone had the start of a good idea, but didn't execute to its full potential. I had to intervene, so I scooped it up and freed the whimsical beasts of their bonds of mediocrity.

And onto some pretty wallpaper:

And then let it loose into the wild:

Free to frolic together as they please

Lined up together, these unicorns would rein supreme screwed straight into a wall, where their necks can hold a little girl's (or a big girl's!) dangly goodies, from scarves to necklaces. I'd also love to see them lined up in an entry hall or mudroom at just the right height for childrens' coats, umbrellas, and book bags. They would dutifully serve one's umbrellas and dog leashes just as well!
